Any chance there’s info about whether or not a car could take a bike in addition to a passenger? We’re a family of bike commuters, but sometimes a ride home (with bike) would be super-useful. Also, if I signed up as a driver, I always have my bike rack on the back and would be happy to offer that service to others.
Hey Sara. Great idea! The best way to do this is to see which drivers are available at that time, then select the driver who has the biggest car. After a driver confirms your ride, give them a call to see if they have space for a bike (or have a bike rack).
As for you, we’d be happy to see you giving rides. Let us know if you have any questions about the application process. You can apply here: http://www.side.cr/drive
I would love to sign up as a driver in the Seattle area, but I have a Windows phone. Any hope for me? =)
Unfortunately no. We’re only on Android and iPhone at the moment.
I’m from the University of Washington’s Transportation Services department and we’re always looking for new ways to reach out to new carpoolers. Any chance we could schedule a meeting with you sometime soon?

Thank you Darren. Welcome to the community!
RE the exclusively-weekend hours, I’ve been a Seattle Sidecar driver for all of a week now, but my “online” hours have primarily been the opposite of those posted – M-F, morning until around 6pm, and I’ve noticed that I’m never the only driver in the downtown area. If you’re in downtown or Capitol Hill (and in some cases Ballard), there seems to consistently be someone in your neighborhood almost 24/7 at this point.
I live in Capital Hill with a car, how does this work, how much do I earn for Mon thru Fri?
